Visual Arts

The Visual Arts program at Doncaster Gardens Primary School provides students with a 50-minute weekly session to explore, challenge and create to express their ideas and emotions.

Students will explore the basic elements of art, such as colour, shape, line, and texture. They will be introduced to different art materials and techniques, including drawing, painting, sculpture, and collage. Students will have the opportunity to consolidate concepts through hands-on activities and create their unique artworks. They will also be introduced to famous artists and artworks to broaden their understanding of different art styles.

Throughout the year, students will have the opportunity to showcase their artwork in our many corridors displays, newsletter and annual art show. These platforms allow students to share their creativity and artistic growth with their peers, teachers, and parents. Some individual and cohort art is also displayed permanently in several areas within the school.
